Fitzpatrick
Electric Supply Company (Fitzpatrick), the leading
Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley Distributor in western Michigan,
was acquired by Kendall Electric, Inc. (Kendall),
on March 23, 2001. Kendall acquired Fitzpatrick to consolidate
market share in Michigan where Kendall controls the distribution
of Allen-Bradley products for south-central Michigan. Duff & Phelps, LLC, a Chicago-based investment banking and financial
advisory firm, initiated the transaction, assisted in negotiations,
and served as financial advisor to Fitzpatrick. In preparation
for the sale of Fitzpatrick, Duff & Phelps sold two of the
divisions of Fitzpatrick, which included Wittock Supply Company
and Kurz Electrical Supply Company (Kurz). The Kurz
transaction was completed with the management team, while Wittock
Supply Company was acquired by Standard Electric Company. |
