Consistent with its growth strategy, Duff & Phelps, LLC, announced
the opening of its newest office in Seattle, Washington to serve
the valuation and investment banking needs of clients located
from the Canadian border to the Bay Area of California. According
to Seattle Managing Director Geoffrey Melrose, the office will
focus on financial reporting compliance valuations in light
of the recent implementation of FAS 141 and 142 accounting rules
governing acquisitions and goodwill treatment. The Seattle office
will also provide other valuation services in connection with
mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and litigation support.
Additionally, the Seattle office will provide fairness opinions
and investment banking services in cooperation with other Duff & Phelps offices.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Mr. Melrose was a Director in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (ìPwCî) Corporate Value Consulting practice in Seattle. Joining Mr. Melrose in the founding of the Seattle office are Joseph Lovejoy, CFA; Brian Jones; and Joshua Langdon. All three had worked with Mr. Melrose at PwC prior to joining Duff & Phelps.
