Meriter Health Services, Inc. acquired all of the Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation stock owned by Employers Insurance of Wausau, increasing Meriter’s ownership in Physician’s Plus to a two-thirds majority interest in the Madison, Wisconsin based HMO. The transaction is part of Wausau’s announcement one year ago to exit the health insurance business and consolidate its interests in other lines of insurance administered by its parent, Liberty Mutual Group.

Duff & Phelps, LLC, a Chicago-based investment banking and financial advisory firm, assisted in negotiations and served as financial advisor to Meriter.
