FCC Technical Paper Informs Parts of National Broadband Plan
On April 21, 2010, the Federal Communications Commission released a technical paper titled “The Broadband Availability Gap.” This paper informed sections of the FCC’s larger National Broadband Plan that made recommendations on how to achieve affordable, robust broadband access throughout the United States. Duff & Phelps was honored to serve as the operations cost advisor to CostQuest Associates, the information services firm charged with developing the economic model upon which the technical paper is based. This role was uniquely suited to Duff & Phelps’ deep analytic and forecasting capabilities as well as knowledge of telecommunications assets and systems. Duff & Phelps provided expert advice in the areas of valuation and tax for this engagement.
