Adam Klausner is a director in the Dispute Consulting Group at Duff & Phelps. He provides valuation work on various esoteric asset backed securities, including CDOs, RMBS, aircraft and container lease, student loans, and life insurance securitizations. He also provides litigation support on complex financial matters. Adam recently assisted a financial institution, providing both an expert report and testimony, involving the analysis of the institution’s decision to invest in certain RMBS, including its own transaction modeling.
Adam has extensive experience in the structuring and pricing of asset backed securities and credit derivatives. He has both structuring and restructuring experience on international and domestic project finance transactions.
Prior to Duff & Phelps Adam was the Vice President of Credit Remediation at ACA FG. While there, he was part of a team that managed a $7B high yield, tax-exempt, project finance portfolio. He also created and managed a $45mm bond-repurchase program, in which he purchased distressed ACA insured credits in an attempt to minimize future insured liabilities. Adam actively participated on and in one case was the leader of the ad-hoc creditor’s committee on several defaulted toll road transactions.
Adam began his career at the bond insurer Financial Security Assurance (FSA), where he first worked in FSA’s London office on project finance transactions and later worked in the New York office on various structured finance transactions, including CDOs, RMBS, aircraft lease, student loan, life insurance, and whole business securitizations. After FSA, Adam worked in a student loan ABS banking analytics group at the Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets.
Adam graduated from the Stern School of Business at New York University with a B.S. in finance and accounting.
