Ajay is a director in the New York office of Duff & Phelps and is part of the Alternative Asset Advisory segment. He has 10 years of overall experience.
Ajay specializes in advising a wide range of alternative asset managers, including private equity, hedge funds and business development companies. He has performed valuations of portfolios of illiquid equity interests including common equity, straight and participating preferred equity, loans, senior secured debt, junior/unsecured subordinated debt, mezzanine debt, and high yield loans. Ajay has worked for clients in numerous industries, including technology, personal care, telecommunications, real estate, education, manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, business services, alcoholic beverages, chemical, private equity, hedge funds, asset management, and banking.
Ajay’s engagements include large portfolio valuations and reviews for hedge funds and private equity investments, purchase price allocations and goodwill impairment testing; valuation of minority and control equity interest for tax purposes; and legal entity valuation for tax planning and restructuring purposes. Ajay also possesses expertise in the valuation of intangible assets that include core deposits, time deposits, customer relationships, contracts, trademarks, noncompetition agreements, in-process research and development, etc.
Ajay joined American Appraisal (now Duff & Phelps) in 2012. Previously, he was a manager in the New York City office of Ernst & Young Valuation Services. Prior to joining Ernst & Young Valuation Services in 2006, he was a senior consultant at Bearing Point, Inc., Valuation Services.
Ajay received his M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University, New York.
