Brian Pawluck joined Duff & Phelps in 2015. He is a managing director in the firm’s Canadian Restructuring practice. Brian has more than 30 years of experience in complex financial restructurings and M&A transactions in respect of both public and private companies across a wide range of industries. He has acted as financial advisor to companies, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors and other interested parties in distressed situations. Brian has advised strategic buyers, pension funds and private equity firms on the financial aspects of an acquisition with a focus on the value drivers of the business, deal issues, quality of earnings and cash flows.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Brian was a partner at PwC LLP having worked in the Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary and Toronto offices where he held senior management and board positions during a 30+ year career. In distress situations, Brian acted in various roles as an Officer of the Court, including as Receiver and Interim Receiver, Monitor under the CCAA and as a Trustee in Bankruptcy. Brian also advised stakeholders in numerous out of court restructurings. Brian has considerable experience in energy and mining, real estate and construction, warehousing and transportation, as well as manufacturing.
Brian holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and a Trustee in Bankruptcy. Brian is also a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
