Christopher Gregory is a managing director in the New York office of Duff & Phelps, LLC and is part of the Transaction Opinions practice. He has extensive experience executing engagements for fairness opinions, solvency opinions and business valuation opinions.
Christopher has executed numerous financial advisory and valuation assignments involving fairness opinions, solvency opinions, commercially reasonable debt opinions, strategic planning, financial reporting, portfolio valuations of illiquid securities, ERISA valuations and transactions and litigation support.
He has provided fairness and/or solvency opinions in a variety of public and private company transactions, including capital raising, going-private, leveraged buyouts, asset sales, reverse mergers, related-party transactions, spin-offs, recapitalizations, and ESOP transactions.
He has advised boards of directors, management, corporate counsel, trustees, and shareholders on a variety of corporate finance and valuation issues for tender offers, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, ESOPs, financings, and other general corporate and tax-related purposes.
His clients represent a broad range of industries, including consumer products, consumer retail, financial services, energy, health care, printing, media, technology, and manufacturing, among others.
He has executed engagements for corporate clients including Albertson’s, Atlantic Power Corporation, Cargill, CIFG Holding, Ltd., Gehl Company, Monsanto, Madison Capital Funding, Select Comfort Corporation, The Sports Authority, TransUnion Corp, and for private equity and hedge fund clients, including Citadel, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Kelso & Company, Harbinger Capital Partners, and Sun Capital Partners.
Christopher has an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, where he graduated with honors. He also has a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Christopher holds the Series 7 and Series 63 certifications. He is also a member of the American Society of Appraisers, Business Valuation Association, and The ESOP Association, as well as a member of the board of the Lake View Citizens’ Council.
