Daniel Salcedo is a director for the U.S. and Latin America real estate and related assets practice in the Real Estate Services Group. This includes the development and practice of the Hospitality Advisory and Valuation Group.
Daniel has performed real estate investment valuation and consulting in a variety of property types and markets. His experience expands over 23 years in diverse real estate assets such as multifamily, industrial, retail, office, hotel, mixed-use, and special-purpose facilities. He has provided professional real estate valuation and consulting in several countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America (Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica), South America (Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador), and the Caribbean (The Bahamas, Barbados, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Anguilla).
Daniel has participated in several foreclosure litigation that includes depositions that resulted uncontested or settled before going to trial in U.S. Courts.
Daniel rejoined American Appraisal in 2013. Prior to that, he was managing director of Micelli Capital Advisors, a company that he created in 2004; vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, where he was responsible for valuation and advisory services in the southeast United States, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean; and an engagement director for American Appraisal, where he was responsible for the development of the real estate valuation practice in the United States and Latin America. Daniel has also worked for Goldman Sachs as a real estate investment consultant and Arthur Andersen as a real estate advisor.
Daniel received his MBA in financial management from the University of the Americas and his B.S. in economics from the National Autonomous University in Mexico. He is also a certified general real property appraiser licensed in California, Colorado, Florida, Michigan and Texas. He is an MAI designated member of the Appraisal Institute, a CCIM designated member of the CCIM Institute and a MRICS designated member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
