Danny Beeton is a managing director in the London office and is part of the Transfer Pricing practice. He has over 25 years’ experience advising multinational companies on global transfer pricing issues, bringing a management consulting perspective to business analysis and transfer pricing advice, supported by deep economics skills and vast international experience.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Danny was global head of transfer pricing economics at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and before that was partner and global head of transfer pricing at Grant Thornton. He began his career as an international management consultant and then transfer pricing specialist at Ernst & Young. His past work includes: securing the first UK construction industry APA; the successful presentation of a transfer pricing report to resolve a VAT dispute; defence assistance in transfer pricing audits across Europe and Asia-Pacific; and transfer pricing planning and benchmarking of profit margins, royalty rates, interest rates, guarantee fees, and other fees and commissions.
Additionally, Danny publishes thought leadership on strategic transfer pricing concepts and techniques, leveraging his experience of financial services, investment management and private equity. Danny has been listed in Euromoney’s (Legal Media Group) “Guide to the World’s Leading Transfer Pricing Advisers” and “World’s Leading Tax Controversy Advisers” as well as Chambers Tax. He regularly updates the Capital Markets Tax Committee and the British Bankers Association on transfer pricing issues and continues to provide transfer pricing guidance to HMRC.
Danny has a PhD in economics from Queen Mary College London, where he now lectures on transfer pricing, as he also does at Kings College and the London School of Economics. He is a member of the CBI International Tax Working Group and the CIOT Dispute Resolution Working Group, as well as the Thin Cap Interest Group. Danny is the Editor-in-Chief of the BNAI Transfer Pricing Forum journal
