Darren Gange is a managing director in the New York office and is a member of the firm’s Investment Banking practice, where he also serves as Head of East Coast Financial Sponsor Coverage. Darren has more than 13 years of investment banking and private equity experience in the middle market.
Prior to rejoining Duff & Phelps in 2014, Darren spent six years in the private equity industry first as a vice president at Red Diamond Capital, a $180 million buyout fund sponsored by Mitsubishi Corporation, and later, as a vice president at the D Cubed Group, a private equity fund focused on the restaurant, franchising and multi-channel retailing sectors. He has been involved in sourcing and executing private equity investments and portfolio monitoring activities ranging from financial planning and budgeting, debt refinancings and restructurings, key management changes, and evaluating follow-on acquisitions.
Earlier in his career, Darren was a vice president in the M&A practice at Duff & Phelps, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, exclusive divestitures, recapitalizations, and strategic board advisory assignments. Prior to Duff & Phelps, Darren worked at Stone Ridge Partners and Merrill Lynch & Co., where he served both public and privately-held middle market clients including CoolBrands International, Tourneau, Gristede’s Supermarkets, Salant Corporation, and Caswell-Massey.
He has sat on the Boards of Directors of W.C. Wood Corporation, a manufacturer of specialty freezers marketed under the Whirlpool® and Wood’s® brand names, and Avon Automotive, a global supplier of automotive components to OEMs and Tier I suppliers.
Darren holds a B.S. in finance (magna cum laude) from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was an Honor’s Scholar and Trustee Scholar. He is a FINRA registered representative holding FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses.
