Erik Arnold, CPA, CA, CBV, CFA is a director at Duff & Phelps in the Toronto office.
Erik has prepared and critiqued numerous expert reports in complex litigation matters involving shareholder disputes, tax disputes, patent infringement, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, business interruption, negligence, fraud, misrepresentation and family law. Erik has qualified and testified as an expert in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Erik also has extensive experience providing valuation and financial advisory services in non-litigious matters, including fairness opinions, sell-side and buy-side M&A, debt/equity financings, estate planning, tax, corporate governance, succession planning, corporate reorganizations, stock option plans, transfer pricing and financial reporting (including purchase price allocations).
Erik is a contributing author to several published research papers and articles on various topics related to business valuation and expert witness testimony for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV), Ontario Bar Association (OBA) and The Lawyers Weekly.
Erik obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), and a CFA Charterholder (CFA).
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Erik spent several years with a global accounting firm providing audit services to private and public companies in the technology, software, and entertainment industries.
