Jason Easterly, MAI, is a director in the Houston office of Duff & Phelps in the Real Estate Services Group.
Jason is primarily focused on real property valuation and consulting for client owners, operators and investors of real estate assets. He has significant real property valuation and consulting experience, concentrating on valuations for financial reporting purposes over the past 10 years. Jason has provided numerous types of valuation and advisory services for multiple property types including office buildings, retail centers, restaurants, bank branches, gas stations & convenience stores, multi-family properties, industrial & manufacturing facilities, medical & healthcare facilities, petrochemical plants, subdivisions, mixed-use facilities, casinos, golf courses, rights-of-way, various entertainment venues and vacant land. He has performed work across the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, Europe, South America and Asia.
Jason has consulted on many engagements requiring valuations for financial reporting in connection with ASC 805, ASC 820, ASC 350, and ASC 840 related to purchase price allocations, fair value measurements, goodwill impairment testing and fresh start accounting and lease accounting. In addition, Jason has experience involving loan collateral evaluation for lenders, sale lease-back transactions, corporate real estate portfolio valuations and leasehold valuations.
Prior to rejoining Duff & Phelps in 2010, Jason spent almost three years in the Tangible Asset practice at Houlihan Lokey where he performed similar valuations for financial reporting purposes.
Jason holds a B.A. in agricultural development from Texas A&M University and an M.R.E in real estate finance from Texas A&M University. Jason is currently a Member of the Appraisal Institute and a Candidate Member in the American Society of Appraisers. He is also a certified general real estate appraiser in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado and Kansas.
