John Barrymore is a managing director in M&A specializing in the food and nutrition sector at Duff & Phelps. He has almost 20 years of investment banking and private equity experience in the food, beverage and nutrition industries, having completed over 100 transactions in his career.
John has been involved as an investor in several notable success stories in the consumer industry, including New Chapter (sold to Procter & Gamble in 2012) and MegaFood (sold to Pharmavite in 2014). John’s experience as a board member and investor have allowed him to successfully advise private equity firms and strategic clients on tactical investments and acquisitions in the consumer industry.
John specializes in advising food and nutrition companies on creating value through M&A and corporate partnerships. John maintains senior level client relationships with many global CPG companies and has completed cross-border transactions around the world, including across Europe, China, Southeast Asia and India.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, John was a partner at 6Pacific Group, a merchant banking firm specializing in consumer products. Previously, John held senior positions in the consumer industry groups of several large investment banking firms, including Credit Suisse, DLJ, Bank of Montreal and Piper Jaffray.
John graduated from Southern Methodist University and The London School of Economics. John maintains his FINRA Series 63, 79 and 82 licenses.
