John Osswald joined Duff & Phelps in 1999. He is a managing director in the Chicago office and part of the firm’s Valuation Advisory Services business unit. John has more than 17 years of experience in providing valuation and corporate financial advisory services.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, John was a manager in the Financial Valuation Services practice of Arthur Andersen. He specializes in the valuation of businesses, debt and equity securities and intangible assets for a variety of purposes. John advises publicly traded and closely held businesses as well as individuals on valuation matters in the areas of gift and estate tax, corporate tax, financial reporting, litigation and dispute resolution, corporate reorganizations and recapitalizations. John has served clients in a broad range of industries, including asset management, specialty retail, professional services, banking and financial services and basic industries.
John holds an M.B.A in finance and a B.A. in history with highest distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a chartered financial analyst.
