Justin Kloos is a director in the Atlanta office and part of the Valuation Advisory Services business unit. Justin is a member of the Telecommunications, Information, Communications and Entertainment industry practice of Duff & Phelps and has more than eight years of experience in valuation and financial advisory services.
Justin has prepared numerous valuations of businesses, securities and intangible assets for various purposes. Justin has deep experience in the wireless and cable telecommunications and software sectors and also has significant valuation experience in numerous other industries, including private equity, consumer finance, food manufacturing, distribution, and chemicals, among others. Justin's clients include large multinational corporations, mid/small-cap companies, and private equity firms. His expertise is primarily focused on financial reporting and tax reporting requirements related to acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, joint venture formations and impairment testing. Justin has also performed valuations for purposes of equity-based compensation plans, valuations of intellectual property for financing and licensing purposes, valuations of non-competition agreements for tax purposes, mark-to-market valuations for investments held by private equity firms, and financial damages analyses for litigation purposes. Justin has extensive experience in the general valuation of technology, trademarks/brands, customer relationships, contracts, and other intangible assets, with significant experience in valuing industry-specific assets and liabilities such as wireless spectrum licenses issued by the Federal Communications Commission, cable communications franchise rights, software-based technology, and deferred revenue related to software maintenance contracts.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Justin was an Associate at Standard & Poor’s Corporate Value Consulting (CVC).
Justin holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, with significant additional coursework in finance. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.
