Mark Skelton is a managing director in the London office and part of the Global Restructuring Advisory practice. He has more than 15 years’ experience working in debt advisory and restructuring.
Mark's experience includes advising stakeholders on debt raising and refinancing, covenant re-sets, amendment requests and financial restructuring, contingency planning, and pension restructurings. Mark also advises clients on acquisition and disposal of non-core and non-performing loans and portfolios.
Many of the assignments Mark has been involved with involve cross border stakeholders. In the course of these engagements, he has often undertaken senior roles in a number of major UK, US, European and Australian restructuring, recovery and insolvency assignments. Mark's sector experience includes financial services, automotive, retail, property and telecommunications. Representative assignments include the restructuring of Arcapita Bank, Cattles, Chemtura, Sea Containers, Enron and London Trust Bank, amongst others.
Additional areas of expertise include acting as financial advisor to stakeholders and creditor committees in Chapter 11 restructurings and acting on behalf of pension trustees in assessing the covenants of their financial sponsors.
Mark joined the firm in 2014, having previously worked for a leading independent restructuring advisor and Big 4 firm. Mark also spent a 6 month secondment in the workout team of a major international investment bank.
Mark is a Chartered Accountant and a licensed UK Insolvency Practitioner.
