Nicolas Ballian is a director in the São Paulo office and is part of the Valuation Advisory Services practice.
Nicolas has more than more than 10 years of valuation experience across a wide range of industries, advising public and private companies, private equity and management teams.
In Europe, the U.S. and Australia, Nicolas has advised on various transaction types, including valuations for financial reporting both in IFRS and USGAAP, tax and transaction purposes.
Nicolas’ cross-border valuation experience includes purchase price allocations and impairment tests for Publicis and Technicolor, tax valuations in the context of the purchase of French ABN Amro assets by RBS and the purchase of Organon by Merck & Co., asset valuation aimed at the creation of a joint venture between Nestlé and Lactalis, valuation of the Lion beer and wine brand portfolio for strategic purposes.
In Brazil, Nicolas worked on the valuation for accounting and tax purposes of Petrobras’ downstream assets, the acquisitions of IBOPE by WPP, HSBC Brazil by Bradesco and Osklen by Alpargatas.
Nicolas joined Duff & Phelps in 2016. Prior to Duff & Phelps, Nicolas has had a diverse background at PwC. Nicolas received his B.S. and M.A. in economics from Dauphine Paris University, and his M.A. in finance from Brandeis University.
