Phil Duffy is a managing director in the Manchester office and part of the Global Restructuring Advisory practice. He has more than 20 years experience in the corporate recovery and recovery market.
He has significant experience advising clients in complex situations, including those with multijurisdictional issues. He has delivered a significant number of Independent Business Reviews on behalf of a wide range of stakeholders in order to facilitate a turnaround and/or restructuring.
Phil's sector expertise includes retail, travel, sport and manufacturing. Selected appointments include MFI, Borders, and several undisclosed multisite retailers resulting in the saving of many thousands of jobs as well as protecting stakeholders’ interests. He has been administrator to a number of travel businesses, including Club Travel and, the Travelscope group of companies. In the sporting sector, Phil has provided restructuring advice to Premiership and Championship football clubs.
Additional notable multijurisdictional appointments include performing an operational restructure of the Mauritius Commercial Bank following a well publicised fraud; and serving as a member of the senior management team running the global administration of Federal Mogul.
Phil is a Chartered Accountant and a licensed UK Insolvency Practitioner. He has also co-chaired the R3 Turnaround Workshops (IFT) in the North of England.
