Sanjay is a director and leads the tangible asset valuation team of Duff & Phelps in India and Singapore. He has managed and executed a range of tangible asset valuation engagements involving plant and machinery and real property across various industries in Asia Pacific Region.
Sanjay has more than 15 years of experience in engineering and valuation services. He has provided valuation services, such as pre-acquisition review, and purchase price allocation for financial reporting purposes related to IFRS, SFRS, USGAAP, IGAAP, PSAK and other applicable standards as well as valuation services for impairment testing, taxation, insurance and for strategic decision-making purposes. He has performed many site visits in India and Asia Pacific countries related to valuations.
He has organized, staffed, managed and executed a range of tangible asset valuation engagements including plant & machinery valuation, real property valuation, having exposures to various industries like: Steel, Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Cement, Mechanical Manufacturing, Copper, Aluminum, Plastics & Polymer, Automobile, Textile among others.
Prior to joining American Appraisal (now Duff & Phelps), Sanjay worked with Deloitte, leading a team of 10 in providing valuation services to US-based clients in relation to valuation of tangible assets under US GAAP including ASC 350, 360, 805 and 820 (formerly SFAS 142, 144, 141R, and 157). He also assisted with developing and implementing a standard PPE valuation model across the firm.
Sanjay holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, Sanjay is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), the Institution of Engineers of India (MIEI) and is a qualified Chartered Engineer (CE)
