Sanjeev Kumar is a director in the Los Angeles office and is part of the Transfer Pricing practice. He has 11 years of experience in private practice. Sanjeev has developed a broad background in the related areas of business, law and taxation. He has extensive experience in international tax planning, documentation and controversy in a variety of industries including real estate, retail, apparel, consumer goods, restaurants, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, technology, construction and auto-parts, among others.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Sanjeev was a consultant and a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young LLP. He has performed the initial analysis, audit defense and dispute resolution for a variety of transfer pricing issues, and represented taxpayers before the IRS on tax controversy matters such as APAs, IRS exams, administrative appeals and MAP cases.
Sanjeev has extensive experience leading and managing transfer pricing projects for REITs and real estate funds, having focused on this area for seven years. He has advised some of the largest REITs on complex IRC section 857 and controversy issues. Sanjeev has served real estate companies in the mortgage, self-storage, retail, lodging, office, healthcare, industrial and studio industries.
Sanjeev is an attorney and an economist, with an active law license in Ohio.
