Sharon Davies is a director in the London office of Duff & Phelps and is part of the Valuation Advisory Services practice. Sharon has over 12 years of experience in valuation and corporate finance.
Sharon has performed business valuations and intangible asset valuations for many global companies. Her experience includes assisting companies in determining values for financial reporting, tax planning, and transaction advisory support. Her engagement highlights include purchase price allocations and asset valuations for financial reporting purposes under IFRS and US GAAP; intangible asset and goodwill impairment tests; equity and asset valuations for tax purposes; valuation of private equity and hedge fund investments and portfolios; and fairness opinions.
She has worked on numerous assignments valuing intangible assets for IFRS 3, IAS 36 and IAS 38 requirements (and US equivalents) including the valuation of customer relationships, broker relationships, purchased credit case relationships and co-brand contracts, assembled work forces, covenants not to compete, patents, technology, and trade names and trademarks.
Sharon has worked in a range of other industries including financial services (particularly within banking and consumer finance, asset management and capital markets), telecommunications, technology and publishing in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.
Sharon started her career working in corporate finance for a global investment bank advising on mergers and acquisitions. She joined Duff & Phelps in 2004 and has worked in both their London and New York offices.
Sharon received her Masters in Business and Finance from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of the UK.
