Tim Byhre is a director in the Disputes and Investigations practice and is based in the Chicago office. Tim has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and specializes in the valuation of equity, derivatives, and structured products for financial services disputes.
Tim primarily focuses on the valuation of financial products for arbitration, litigation, marital, and tax matters. He has served as a consultant on numerous cases through trial and jury verdict and has significant experience preparing expert reports and trial preparation. In addition to the valuation of financial assets, Tim has extensive experience in providing valuation solutions on a wide array of financial engagements, including breach of contracts, damages, and insider trading.
Tim’s industry experience includes hedge funds, private equity, commercial banking, retail, and transportation industry, among others.
Tim was also part of the core Duff & Phelps teams for the bankruptcy of Residential Capital (formerly GMAC), the investigation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, and the analytics team to the Examiner to Lehman Brothers. Prior to Duff and Phelps, Tim worked for APAC Customer Services where he implemented pricing strategies for domestic and international clients in the outsourcing industry.
Tim holds an M.B.A. in analytical finance and accounting from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and a B.S. in economics and international relations from Boston University. Tim is also a chartered financial analyst (CFA) charter holder.
