Vin Batra is a managing director in the firm's Restructuring Advisory Practice and is based in the New York office. He has over 20 years of financial advisory experience across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Vin focuses on in and out-of-court debtor and creditor side restructurings and financings, and distressed M&A transactions. He has extensive experience working with companies in the healthcare, industrials, media, telecom/technology, business services, and consumer sectors. Vin has completed advisory assignments* for the following companies: LifeCare Holdings, Lehman Brothers, Reuters (Bridge), Rotech Healthcare, Lund International, Arrow Storage Products, NextMedia Group, US Virgin Island Daily News, Canwest LP, Quaker Fabric, Energy Coal Resources, Takefuji Corporation, Elpida Memory, Regatta (Li & Fung), Lund International, American Express Business Finance, Pescanova USA, Thai Oil Power (PTT E&P) and True Temper Sports.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Vin focused on originating and executing special situation transactions at Alvarez & Marsal Securities, LLC and Deloitte Corporate Finance, LLC. Vin spent the early part of his career at Lehman Brothers and Arthur Andersen. Vin also worked with professor Edward Altman at the Salomon Center of Finance, where he conducted research on bankruptcies and predicting corporate defaults through Z-Score computations.
Vin received his M.B.A from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and is an inactive CPA (State of Colorado). Vin is also a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered representative and holds the series 7, series 24 and series 63 securities industry registrations.
