This comprehensive program involves training and mentoring where you will have the chance to get to know the company, network with your peers and learn how to maximize your professional skills.
Here’s what our recent DPU graduates had to say about the program:
“DPU was a great transition into the workforce. It provided me with the opportunity to meet colleagues from other offices, and the training allowed me to hit the ground running when I returned to the office.”
“For me, DPU was the perfect transition between college and the start of my career. I had the opportunity to make friends with many of the other new hires from around the world, while also learning more about Duff & Phelps and my role within the company. It was real-world knowledge and application with a college-like feel of friends and great times. I am excited about moving forward with my new career and am glad that Duff & Phelps sees the importance and benefit of a program like DPU.”
“DPU was a great experience. The combination of classroom-style learning supplemented with rigorous training exercises really helped me establish a solid foundation prior to beginning the analyst role. The program built significantly upon prior accounting and finance knowledge from college while also adding in real-world examples of case studies and previous Duff & Phelps engagements. One of the best parts was getting to know colleagues from my business line working in different parts of the world.”
“DPU is a great opportunity to meet new Duff & Phelps employees from across the world, learn important job skills and challenge yourself. All of the instructors are extremely knowledgeable – be prepared to learn a lot! Group exercises give you the opportunity to work with people from all over the globe and present in front of Duff & Phelps staff. The individual exercises will challenge your finance knowledge and Excel skills. While it sounds like a lot of work, DPU is really fun. Outside of the classroom, you can play volleyball or basketball (among other sports), take a trip to the local outlet mall, grab a few drinks at the Q Pub or just relax and watch some TV in one of the lounges. On the weekend, take a trip to Chicago. After I left DPU, I was so excited to begin my new career.”
“I found that the true value in DPU is not just in the formal training you receive, but also the tremendous opportunity to network with individuals across the organization, from other new hires all the way up to the CEO of the company. I most enjoyed working alongside great minds from all over the world. I worked with other analysts not only from other cities within the U.S., but from London, Paris, Munich, Amsterdam, etc. It provides you with the perspective that our firm is a global organization, and that we seek to leverage our global capabilities to serve our clients. The technical training consists of an intensive, comprehensive two-week program taught by senior leaders at the firm, and it’s a great opportunity to develop professional skills you will find useful both immediately and for your career.”
“DPU 2011 was an enriching two-week experience. Getting a handle on course material and becoming acquainted with D&P culture was essential in kicking off a successful career. Having the opportunity to meet fellow colleagues from around the globe and immerse ourselves in finance while having a lot of fun really sets DPU apart from anything else.”
“DPU is a great way to get exposure to the knowledge and resources you need in the office. It seems like an overwhelming amount of information at first, but I’m already remembering and using parts of what I learned at DPU after only two weeks in the office. It’s a great review, and helps get you comfortable before beginning client work. Plus, it’s a lot of fun, and there are plenty of networking and socializing opportunities with people from around the US and even from around the world.”
