Duff & Phelps has acquired Harvester Forensics Limited

Duff & Phelps Corporation (NYSE: DUF), a leading independent financial advisory and investment banking firm, today announced that Harvester Forensics Limited, a leading investigative and advisory firm based in Toronto, has joined Duff & Phelps’ Global Electronic Discovery and Investigations practice.

Approximately six client service professionals will join Duff & Phelps - including Joe Coltson, a leader in the e-discovery and forensic industry across Canada, who joins as a managing director.

This development strengthens Duff & Phelps’ growing presence in Canada, which was established by the acquisition of Toronto-based financial advisory firm Cole & Partners in 2010. That team focuses on dispute consulting, valuation and corporate finance advisory services. In 2011, the Canadian group was further enhanced by the addition of RSM Richter’s Financial Restructuring Practice in Toronto. Those professionals focus on restructuring and insolvency as part of Duff & Phelps’ Global Restructuring Advisory practice.

“The addition of skilled and seasoned colleagues from Harvester enriches our team on the ground in Toronto and builds on the investigative and advisory services that we provide to clients in that region and around the world," said Greg Higgins, leader of Duff & Phelps’ Dispute & Legal Management Consulting (DLMC) business. "Both the culture and service offerings of Harvester align nicely with our Global Electronic Discovery and Investigations practice, making this an important addition to our DLMC business.“

Harvester Forensics Limited has built a reputation as one of Canada’s leading e-discovery and investigative firms. The team provides corporate legal departments and law firms with full-service capabilities to manage electronic information for discovery, investigations, regulatory issues, compliance, and related legal matters in a variety of industries.

“We are excited about the business synergies and tremendous growth opportunities that Duff & Phelps brings to our team and our clients,” said Coltson. “By having access to Duff & Phelps’ broad spectrum of capabilities, depth of experience and broad geographic footprint, we can further develop our relationships with corporate legal departments and law firms in Canada and beyond.”
