The University of Wisconsin Wins YOUniversity Deal Challenge Second Year in a Row

A team of students from The University of Wisconsin recently took top honors at the Duff & Phelps YOUniversity Deal Challenge 2013.

Now concluding its fourth year, the Duff & Phelps YOUniversity Deal Challenge engages teams of college juniors from around the United States to hone a broad range of skills, including mergers and acquisitions advisory, transaction opinions, dispute consulting and valuation advisory. By working with team members to solve problems presented in a complex fact pattern, participants applied technical reasoning and critical thinking throughout key stages of the deal-making process. In the end, participants had a stronger perspective on how a deal comes together. Finalists received a trip to New York and the chance to compete for scholarships.

Congratulations to first-place winners Alec Horton, David Carswell, Zach Zalasky and case advisor Terry Maxwell from The University of Wisconsin.

As an independent financial advisory and investment banking firm whose services are deeply rooted in valuation expertise, Duff & Phelps is committed to preparing the next generation of financial professionals to meet tomorrow's valuation challenges.
