Duff & Phelps Accelerates Growth of Transfer Pricing Practice with Addition of Three Managing Directors

Duff & Phelps, the premier global valuation and corporate finance advisor, today announced that it has continued to build its transfer pricing practice with the addition of three managing directors. Richard Newby and Shiv Mahalingham have joined the London office and Christopher Newman has joined the Silicon Valley office. The three bring deep expertise and technical acumen to Duff & Phelps’ cross-border transfer pricing team, which is expected to continue to expand in the coming months.

Richard Newby possesses over 20 years of cross-border transaction experience. Among other professional achievements, he previously led one of the Big 4’s tax efficient supply chain management practice, focusing on the integration of business change initiatives with international tax and transfer pricing planning. He has been based in Amsterdam, Paris and London and is bilingual in English and French.

Most recently, Shiv Mahalingham served as founding partner of a UK tax department of a global professional services firm where he provided independent transfer pricing advice and services to multinational companies across Europe, the UK and the U.S. He was previously with a Big 4 firm, where he led a number of large projects such as business restructuring for FTSE 100 groups; thin capitalization studies for high-profile, private equity backed buyouts; and transfer pricing risk/opportunity assessments for FTSE midcap and fledgling groups.

Christopher Newman joins Duff & Phelps with over 18 years of transfer pricing and supply chain advisory experience working in Japan, Singapore and the U.S. Prior to Duff & Phelps, he was the Japan Inbound Practice leader for a Big 4 firm, in charge of coordinating and providing transfer pricing and supply chain advisory for foreign multinational companies with significant Japan transactions.
