Chris Campbell Talks U.S.-China Trade Deal

Duff & Phelps Institute Chief Strategist Chris Campbell recently joined Bloomberg Radio to talk about the first phase of a broader U.S.-China trade pact. Chris was joined by Bloomberg Businessweek Editor Joel Weber and Businessweek Global Economics Editor Cristina Lindblad, Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman and Brad McMillan, CIO at Commonwealth Financial Network.

Chris added that the first phase trade pact between the U.S. and China is a huge step forward. He commented: "Going back 15 years, we've had a strategic economic dialogue with China that covers four American presidents. We've been in multilateral and bilateral conversations with them for a long time."

The traditional approach to China hasn't worked, he said, adding China would say the right things but never follow through.
