Duff & Phelps’ Stadium Naming Rights study has been featured in an article in City A.M. titled ‘Manchester United top Premier League stadium naming rights table and could make £26m from rebranding Old Trafford’. The study highlighted that the biggest six teams account for 78 percent of the total value of Premier League stadium naming rights.
Trevor Birch, Managing Director in London and Head of UK Sports, discusses the results of the study and the effect stadium naming rights could have on revenue for Premiere League clubs, if they were to embrace sponsorship.
“Clubs are continually looking at ways to generate extra value, and given the gilt-edged international demand for the Premier League TV rights, we may be entering a period where we start to see clubs monetizing their stadium rights. This is potentially a huge opportunity for clubs,” suggests Trevor.
