Duff & Phelps’ Stadium Naming Rights Study Featured in Sky Sports and ESPN

Duff & Phelps Stadium Naming Rights study has been featured in Sky Sports and ESPN in articles titled ‘Man. Utd. missing out on £26m per season in potential revenue, according to Duff & Phelps and ‘Old Trafford naming rights could bring in £26 million per season – study’. 

The study revealed that because of the inexorable growth in the value of Premier League rights, potential market rates for stadium naming rights have grown from £74.6m in 2013 to £135.6m in 2017 - an increase of over 80%. It also suggests that Manchester United is missing out on more than £26m a season in potential revenue from naming rights of their stadium Old Trafford. 

Trevor Birch, Managing Director in London and Head of UK Sports, was quoted in both articles, saying “It’s an emotive topic, particularly in this country but it’s an area that is definitely under-utilized as a revenue stream,”
