Duff & Phelps Participates in Asia's First Dedicated Program in Business Valuation

The Institute of Valuers and Appraisers of Singapore (IVAS) and Nanyang Technological University recently launched the Chartered Valuer and Appraiser program, Asia's first dedicated program in business valuation.  Delivered and facilitated by NTU's Nanyang Business School, the Chartered Valuer and Appraiser Program will instill in participants the technical competencies in valuation concepts, principles, applications as well as the approaches and methodologies for conducting valuations.

Targeted at the accountancy, financial and legal sectors, the 18-month program has a curriculum with three modular levels.  It combines industry best practices and experiential learning, and is based on the competency standards advocated by the International Valuation Standards Council, the global standard setter for valuation.

Duff & Phelps is one of 13 supporting industry partners of the program.  Srividya Gopalakrishnan, Managing Director of Duff & Phelps in Singapore, commented, "The Business Valuation profession is driven by intellectual capital.  Historically, there has been very little structured formal training available for Business Valuers.  The Chartered Valuer and Appraiser program is highly relevant for professionals involved in valuations as it equips them with the right skill set, knowledge and competencies to deliver a distinctive value proposition.  That is why Duff & Phelps works closely with IVAS as we strongly support their efforts to expand and deepen the pool of business valuation professionals."
