Killian Buckley Speaks to Fund Recs: Brexit and Asset Managers

Killian Buckley, Managing Director and Head of Management Company Solutions in the Compliance and Regulatory Consulting practice at Duff & Phelps, joined a podcast hosted by FundRecs to discuss how the asset management industry and in particular, management companies, can prepare for Brexit, and highlighted the importance of substance.

“What we have seen over a number of years, particularly in Ireland and Luxembourg is a requirement by the regulators for enhanced substance in each of the domiciles, so that the management and control from an asset management perspective is taking place within those countries and within those management company structures. We (Duff & Phelps Ireland) are involved in many Brexit applications and we are now seeing aggregate substance requirements of three full time equivalents for those clients which is a significant step from where have been.”
