Mike Weaver Featured in the Telegraph on Potential Revenue Losses If Premier League Games Are Played on Neutral Grounds

Michael Weaver, Managing Director and Head of Valuation Advisory EMEA, was featured in The Telegraph weighing in on the potential revenue losses for Premier League clubs if games are played on neutral grounds.

As Government and police figures have proposed that remaining league matches to be played on neutral grounds, Michael said that clubs face an estimated commercial loss of up to £70 million from unfulfilled sponsorship deals.

The Telegraph reports that some Premier League clubs provide advertising space for their sponsors on their home stadium so any change in venue would cause contractual disputes and serious financial repercussions. “If they played at their own stadia, the majority of that would likely be recoverable”, Michael said.
