Chris Campbell Talks About Soybean Purchases as the Latest in the U.S.-China Trade War

Chris Campbell, Chief Strategist at Duff & Phelps as well as the Duff & Phelps Institute, shares his insights on Cheddar on the report that China has stopped all U.S. soybean purchases; this comes as a huge blow to American farmers.

When he was asked to weigh in on how long the U.S.-China trade war was expected to last, Chris said: “I will say this. China's going to have to make concessions rather rapidly because they need access to our U.S. consumers. Without access to our U.S. consumers, the Chinese market and economy will suffer really quickly, really fast.”

"There's going to be a lot of challenges ahead; there is no question about it, but at the end of the day, China's going to have to eventually come around to the point where they are going to have to make concessions," he added.
