Kroll Significantly Expands Its Global Risk and Financial Advisory Platform in the Netherlands with the Talent Acquisition of the BFI Team

Amsterdam – Kroll, the leading independent provider of global risk and financial advisory solutions, today announced the talent acquisition of the BFI team to Kroll’s Valuation Advisory Services Practice in the Netherlands. As leading specialists in complex business valuations, financial investigations and disputes, the BFI team significantly expands our service offerings in the Netherlands. 

BFI was founded in 2016 by Jan Adriaanse and Marc Broekema to support shareholders, corporate leaders and legal advisors with high quality independent advice. In 2021, Alexander Bregonje joined Jan and Marc in the business to grow BFI’s footprint in the Netherlands. 

Among other areas of expertise, the BFI team has a particularly strong reputation in the rapidly expanding restructuring related valuation space and an impressive track-record of supporting major shareholder disputes and investigations in multinational-corporate bankruptcies and liability investigations and analyses. Notable recent representations include acting as valuation adviser to Steinhoff International Holdings (SIHNV) and securing court sanction of its WHOA Restructuring Plan in the Netherlands.

Marc and Alexander will co-lead Kroll’s Netherlands Valuation Advisory Services team and report to Michael Weaver, Managing Director and Head of International Valuation Advisory Services. This move also marks a return to the firm for Alexander who previously worked at Kroll (previously named Duff & Phelps) for 15 years. In addition, Jan Adriaanse will join as director along with the entire team of valuation experts from BFI. 

Kroll’s Amsterdam office maintains a team of seven managing directors specializing in Valuation Services, Expert Services and Forensic Investigations and Intelligence Services and will have a total of 40 employees following the talent acquisition of the BFI team.
