Kroll and BDO have developed a series of economic models aimed at estimating fully loaded production costs for several vaccines in Africa under a range of hypothetical scenarios. The analysis concluded that it is possible for vaccine production in Africa to be cost-competitive in the long term, but only if certain strategies are employed and certain circumstances are met.
