Corporate FinanceJosé Thompson is a director in the M&A Advisory practice of Duff & Phelps, based in the Sao Paulo, Brazil office. José has more than 17 years of corporate finance experience in both valuation and M&A assignments. His recent experience encompasses multiple industries, including chemicals, agribusiness, energy distribution, business process outsourcing, sugar and ethanol, logistics and IT.
José’s M&A background includes both origination and execution of buy and sell side mandates for financial and strategic investors, as well as economic valuations (including purchase price allocation reports), dispute analyses and project finance.
Prior to Duff & Phelps, José was a director in the M&A practice of PwC, where he also gathered relevant due diligence experience as a manager in the Transaction Services team.
José holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EAESP-FGV) in São Paulo, and an MBA from INSPER (Ibmec) in São Paulo, with a specialization in finance.
José is fluent in English, in addition to his native language, Portuguese and he is proficient in German and Spanish.
