Experts from Duff & Phelps and Kroll to be Featured Speakers for FICCI's Restructuring Masterclass

Experts from Duff & Phelps and Kroll are featured speakers in the Masterclass Series on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s (FICCI). Slated to be held from May 28 to June 9, the masterclass series will focus on restructuring of distressed assets and cover legal issues, valuation issues by providing insights on the perspective of investors as well as resolution professionals (RPs) on the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP). This program would comprise of six, two-hour-long interactive sessions with industry and experts. 

Tarun Bhatia, Managing Director and Head of South Asia in the Business Intelligence and Investigations practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, will present on June 2 in a session scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. His session will cover aspects of transaction audit, section 29A and asset tracing. He will focus on the typical issues identified in a corporate debtor’s books and provide detailed information on transaction audit and approach adopted for carrying out these audits. Leveraging his expertise, Tarun will discuss Section 29A, its scope, checks and the approach used for these checks. His session will also help attendees understand asset tracing, how this can be helpful in the resolution process and the approach used for it.

Aviral Jain, Co-Head and Managing Director in the Restructuring Advisory Services practice and Sanjay Ray, Partner, D and P India Advisory LLP will speak on June 9 in a session scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. They will primarily discuss valuation issues focusing on liquidation and considerations on liquidation valuation. The session will highlight practical approaches to fair valuation and some key challenges faced by industry stakeholders such as the resolution professionals, committees of creditors among others.
