Last Day of the 114th Congress

The 114th Congress saw several key bills introduced – and lapse.  Re-intros to keep an eye out for include:

• The Investment Adviser Modernization Act, which would liberalize certain advertising and proxy rules and ease Form PF disclosures for private equity firms
• The Choice Act which would eliminate the SEC registration requirement for private equity firms.
• The Ban Insider Trading Act, which would set forth the circumstances under which insider trading is committed.
• The Insider Trading Prohibition Act, which would define insider trading in a way that limits the liability of remote actors.
