Duff & Phelps has published a comprehensive U.S. Goodwill Impairment Study each year since 2009 in partnership with Financial Executives Research Foundation. In recent years we have expanded this effort to include separate studies covering the Canadian and European markets. Our studies highlight general and industry goodwill impairment trends as well as regulatory developments impacting how goodwill impairment testing is performed.

2016 U.S. Goodwill Impairment Study

The 2016 U.S. Goodwill Impairment Study, prepared in partnership with the Financial Executives Research Foundation, analyzed the general and industry trends of goodwill impairment for over 8,500 U.S. publicly-traded companies.

2016 European Goodwill Impairment Study

The Study is focused on companies in the STOXX® Europe 600 Index, which is comprised of large, mid and small capitalization companies across 18 countries of the European region.
