The Horizon 2020 initiative is well underway in the EU with the Structural Fund part of the program scheduled to become available to U.S.-headquartered companies in January 2015. This program is specifically focused on the Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. Details are emerging concerning the timing and distribution of funds, however it is known that the countries that make up the CEE-6 (Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia) will be granted €167 billion in order to provide stimulus to further growth and development.
