Howard Lanser is a Managing Director and the leader of the U.S. Private Capital Markets practice, based in Chicago. Howard brings more than 25 years of experience providing capital structure and M&A advisory services to financial sponsors, private family/founder-owned businesses and public companies across a wide array of sectors. Leveraging his deep investor and lender relationships, he has executed over 260 transactions totaling more than $50 billion in value.

Prior to joining the firm, Howard served as managing director and Head of Capital Markets for G2 Capital Advisors. Before that, he was the founder and Co-Head of Baird’s Debt Advisory Group.

Howard has extensive experience creating and executing bespoke capital market solutions ranging from growth investments to distressed lending. His experience spans a full spectrum of financing alternatives including ABL/revolvers, first lien, second lien, unitranche, mezzanine, high yield, convertible debt, preferred stock and minority common equity.

Howard received an MBA (Honors) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a BA in history and German. He is also an Adjunct Teaching Professor at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
