Trevor Birch is a managing director in the London office and part of the Global Restructuring Advisory Practice. 

Trevor brings to the business more than 30 years of valuable experience in professional services having worked as a partner in two of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms. He provides restructuring and refinancing advice to companies and their lenders who include PE houses, funds, clearing banks and other distressed fund providers and also takes board-level appointments.

He has acted in a number of high profile, complex Administration cases including most recently Portsmouth FC and Heart Of Midlothian PLC.

In addition to his creditor side work he has also worked corporate side and has undertaken senior executive roles most prominently as CEO of a number of football clubs. In 2002 he became Chief Executive of Chelsea FC where he led the £180 million sale to Roman Abramovich in July 2003. He was subsequently appointed Chief Executive of Leeds United FC, which led to the successful sale to a local consortium following restructuring.

Drawing on his extensive experience advising the sports sector, he works across all practices to support on valuations, transactions, restructuring and corporate advisory.

Trevor has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Sportfive GmbH, a €600m sports rights agency.

He is a chartered accountant and licensed insolvency practitioner.
